Identity Theft: Can You Prevent It?

Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in America and every three seconds an identity is stolen. Did you know there were 11.6 million adult victims of ID theft in 2011?

Now you can focus on your personal identifications. If you carry your social security card replacement in your wallet, you will need to contact the Social Security Administration through their fraud line at 1-800-269-0271. You should also contact your Motor Vehicles Bureau about your driver’s license. Make sure that you ask what documentation you will need to bring with you to have new identifications issued. Chances are that you will need to dig out your birth certificate. If you carry workplace identifications or security clearance cards, make sure that you notify your employer.

Finally, you need to call your local police department. Give them your list of items that were in your wallet. Chances are that your wallet will not be recovered, but you will want to have an accurate record of when your wallet was taken and what was inside of it. There have been instances where cardholders are asked to provide this information. You may be asked to come down and sign a police report, so be prepared to do so if asked.

If you have social security card replacement allergies to cats dogs or even dust you should bring your allergy medicine along with you on the plane. People tend to bring their animals along on flights. Even if the animal isn’t accompanying them on the trip, they still have pet dander on their clothes.

How blind is America? For years we have been programmed to ‘trust’ in ‘Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness’. People of America, I tell you today that our government is not the one to rely on, to say the least. Remember where our foundations and standards were built upon. Then think about ‘WHO’ we are slowly removing from this country. Okay, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to read between the lines here. Think about it! Where is America headed? Eventually, we will be walking around like a bunch of robots.

If you can take a cash advance at a lower interest than some or all of your higher interest credit cards, then you can pay off those balances and save yourself tons of interest debt! Be cautious, though. Some credit cards charge a high fee for transferred balances, so be sure the transaction would be a good deal for you. Make sure you can pay off the balance before a higher rate takes effect too!

If you have very good credit, don’t settle for less than you deserve. If you are paying more than 12 – 15% interest on your credit cards, then you’re paying too much. Think about it. With the prime interest rate at 9 or 10%, lenders that charge 18% or more interest per year on credit card balances have their hands on your checkbook! You should be able to obtain a credit card rate for between 10% and 12%.

I am sure there are a lot more items women love to carry in their purses. These are just a few of the items that generally come to my mind about women and their purses.
